Nov 10, Colombo: A Buddhist monk has commenced a fast demanding the opposition presidential candidate to prove that he has annulled his U.S. citizenship.

Ven. Dr. Inguruwatte Sumangala Thera commenced a fast at the Independence Square in Colombo saying that it is doubtful that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) presidential candidate has annulled his US citizenship.

The Thera has commenced a fast under the theme "Save the country from the Gotabhaya Rajapaksa's conspiracy to betray the supreme motherland to America".

Sumangala Thera says that if US citizenship is withdrawn, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa should prove it with evidence.
