Sat, Nov 9, 2019, 08:12 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Nov 09, Colombo: Sri Lanka's election chief today urged the voters to correctly mark their ballots at the upcoming presidential election.

The Election Commission Chairman said he will not give the ballot paper again to voters who have failed to mark their ballot correctly.

Therefore, the Chairman advises the public to be careful when exercising their preference.

According to Mr. Deshapriya, the Department of Registration of Persons has issued a confirmation letter containing the name, address, national identity card (NIC) number and photo ID printed on a special paper on behalf of persons who have applied to obtain NICs.

Accordingly, the letter issued by the Department of Registration of Persons in lieu of the National Identity Card is a valid document for voting.
