* Wasantha Senanayake joins SLPP to support Gotabhaya

Nov 08, Colombo: State Minister of External Affairs and United National Party (UNP) parliamentarian Wasantha Senanayake, who was recently expelled from the party has joined hands with Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the Presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).

Senanayake said expressed his support to Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and joined the SLPP at a Rajapaksa election rally held this evening (08) at the Maithree Stadium in Manampitiya.

State Minister Senanayake had earlier announced that he will not support the ruling party's presidential candidate, Sajith Premadasa.

The Secretary General of the United National Party, Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam recently announced that the party leaders of the New Democratic Front alliance had taken the decision to expel Dissanayake due to his behavior of switching parties and violating party discipline over the years.
