* Army jeep topples killing soldier and injuring eight

July 14, Colombo: An Army soldier was killed and eight others were injured when an Army jeep toppled at Vattappanei junction in Mullaitivu this morning. The injured have been rushed to the Mullaitivu Hospital.

The accident occurred at around 6 this morning, the Army Media Spokesperson said.

The Army Media Spokesperson said the accident occurred when a group of security personnel were returning home on leave.

The Army is conducting further investigations.
