* Sri Lanka Navy seizes unidentified vessel in deep sea with 60 kg of narcotics

July 11, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy has apprehended an unknown fishing vessel transporting 60 kg of narcotics in deep see South of Galle.

The vessel has not been identified since it was without flag state and registration markings on the hull.

Subsequent search revealed possession of substances suspected to be narcotics weighing approximately 60 Kg.

The vessel is being escorted to Galle harbor for further investigation.

Further, Sri Lanka Navy suspects that the Sri Lankan multi-day fishing boat apprehended yesterday off Galle along with four crew members and narcotic samples onboard also has a link with the fishing vessel that was taken under custody by the navy today.
