* New governors appointed for two provinces

Dec 04, Colombo: Two new governors appointed for the Eastern and North Central Provinces took oaths before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today.

Ms. Anuradha Yahampath was appointed as the Eastern Province Governor while Professor Tissa Vitharana was appointed as the North Central Province Governor.

Ms. Yahampath is the chairperson of the Nationalist Entrepreneurs Association and a Director of a reputed garment export company.

Prof. Vitharana is a former minister and the leader of the LSSP. He had held the post of chairman of the Medical Research Institute over a long period and is also a consultant virologist.
