* Final decision to form UNP-led coalition on Saturday

Aug 15, Colombo: Chairman of the United National Party (UNP), Minister Kabir Hashim says the date to sign the agreement for the proposed new alliance led by the UNP will be decided at a meeting between the leaders and representatives of the UNP to be held on Saturday (Aug 17).

He made this statement while participating in the signing of agreement on the Magnetic and Gravitational Data Collection Project for oil exploration in Mannar and Cavalry Basin.

Minister Kabir Hashim expressing his views said the party hopes to reach a decision at the meeting on Saturday between the leaders and key representatives of the UNP.

"We believe that we can come to an agreement on our amendments at he meeting. We expect to nominate the candidate on the same day we sign the agreement. There is no problem We'll definitely do that. We'll present the person people want.
