* Sri Lanka Navy nabs three persons with over 83 kg of Kerala Cannabis in North

Aug 13, Colombo: A team of Sri Lankan Navy personnel have arrested three individuals with over 83 kg of Kerala cannabis (Kerala Ganja) in the North on Monday (Aug 12th).

The naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command during a raid have observed some suspicious parcels at Keeramale beach area in Jaffna on Monday.

During further search three suspects were also apprehended with the suspicious parcels which contained 83.9kg of Kerala Ganja, the Navy Media Unit said.

The recovered haul of Kerala Ganja along with the three suspects have been handed over to Police Narcotics Bureau of Jaffna for onward actions.

Under the directives of Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, Navy continues with its raids for illegal drug traffickers reinforcing the national effort of eradicating the drug menace from the country, the Navy statement said.
