* UNP Deputy Leader pledges to build national security and economy

Aug 12, Colombo: Minister of Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs and Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP) Sajith Premadasa says that to build a prosperous Sri Lanka a development based on intelligence and knowledge must be undertaken.

The Minister was addressing a public rally at the Wills Park grounds in Badulla today. The rally was organized by the UNP District organizers of the Badulla District, led by Minister Harin Fernando to welcome the deputy leader of the UNP.

Minister Sajith Premadasa received a warm welcome at the rally and in return he vowed to commit his life to the greater well-being of the people of Sri Lanka.

"I promise you in the future, we will create a Motherland, which will unite the whole country, fulfill expectations of the little man, and strengthen and benefit everyone."

"Let's all get together. Letís all be strong. Gather all together. With our alliance, let us create the turning point in this country and win the country and win the people," he said.
