* Rs.25 million from the Colombo Municipal Council to renovate St. Anthony's Shrine

May 26, Colombo: The Colombo Municipal Council has donated Rs. 25 million for the reconstruction of St. Anthony's Shrine in Kochchikade, Colombo damaged by the Easter Sunday bomb attack.

The donation was handed over to Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith at the Archbishop's House in Colombo under the patronage of Colombo Mayor Mrs. Rosy Senanayake.

Deputy Mayor MIM Iqbal and a group of Municipal Councilors were also present at the occasion.

Renovation work is underway at the St. Anthony's Shrine in Kochchikade, where the first bomb exploded during Easter Mass on April 21. The Church resumed Sunday Masses on May 12, three weeks after the attack.
