* Island wide curfew imposed in Sri Lanka for a second night

May 14, Colombo: Sri Lanka's police Tuesday imposed a nationwide curfew for a second night after anti-Muslim riots killed one Muslim man and left dozens of shops, homes and mosques damaged.

Police curfew has been imposed from 9 pm Tuesday to 4 am Wednesday in all areas of the country except in the Northwestern Province and the Gampaha police division, Police spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.

In Northwestern Province, a 12-hour curfew has been imposed from 6 pm Tuesday to 6 am Wednesday.

The police curfew in Gampaha police division will commence today at 7 pm until 6 am tomorrow in Gampaha, Minuwangoda, Dompe, Ganemulla, Kirindiwela, Malwathuhiripitiya, Mirigama, Nittambuwa, Pugoda, Veyangoda, Weeragula, Weliweriya, Pallewela and Yakkala.
