* Woman arrested in connection with the Moratumulla fatal shooting

Mar 21, Colombo: The Special Crimes Operation Unit of the Mirihana Police has been able to arrest a woman who had allegedly aided the fatal shooting of two people in Moratumulla.

The woman was arrested in connection with the shooting of three people in front of a house on Moratumulla-Piliyandala road by unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle on March 14.

Two gunmen arrived on a motorcycle have opened fire at the victims standing on the road. A bus owner and a friend of his son died in the shooting while the son was seriously injured.

The woman was arrested yesterday in Weligama for allegedly providing lodging to the main suspects.

She is to be produced before the Moratuwa Magistrate's Court today.

Mirihana Special Operations Unit is conducting further investigations.
