* Police seek public assistance to arrest woman abetted robbery suspect 'Kewuma'

Mar 15, Colombo: Sri Lanka Police seeks public support for arresting a woman who had abetted Kalum Indika Sampath alias 'Kewuma' in his drug running operations.

The woman is identified as Mahauduwage Don Irosha Nilmini Perera alias Thushari, a 47-year-old resident of Katubedda, Moratuwa. Ongoing investigation shave revealed that the woman is involved in the drug trafficking business.

Information about the suspect can be given to the Senior Superintendent of Kelaniya Police at the telephone number 071-8591589.

The Crimes Division of the Peliyagoda Police recently arrested Kelum Indika Sampath alias Kewuma, who led the illicit drug business of drug kingpin Makandure Madush, who is currently being detained in Dubai.

Kelum Indika Sampath is currently in remand in connection with the robbery of a diamond worth more than five billion rupees.
