Mar 10, Colombo: General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara says victories can be achieved if all supporters of the party work unitedly without creating divisions within the party.

Addressing the Badulla District Convention of the party held at the Badulla Library Auditorium, the General Secretary of the SLFP said the victory could be achieved if stayed together but a defeat is certain if divided.

Jayasekara said that the SLFP's presidential candidate is President and party leader Maithripala Sirisena and party wants to gather all leftist forces together to make Sirisena the President.

"All leftist forces need to be united to re-elect President Sirisena. In order to do that first all the SLFP members should be united. As a party, we are ready to give our 100 percent," he said.

Briefing the party activists on the future program of the SLFP and appointing of village level leaders took place on the occasion.

Badulla District MPs Nimal Siripala de Silva, Dilan Perera and Uva Province Chief Minister Chamara Dassanayake also joined the meeting.
