* Kabir Hashim and MHA Haleem reappointed as ministers

June 19, Colombo: Former ministers Kabir Hashim and MHA Haleem, who resigned from their ministerial portfolios earlier this month, have been reappointed to their previous posts.

The two UNP parliamentarians have been sworn-in as ministers before President Maithripala Sirisena, President's Media Division said.

Accordingly, Kabir Hashim was sworn in as Minister of Highways, Road Development and Petroleum Resources Development and MHA Haleem has taken oath as Minister of Postal Services & Muslim Religious Affairs.

All Muslim ministers including cabinet, state and deputy ministers in the Sri Lankan government resigned from their ministerial portfolios on 3rd June citing the government's failure to ensure the safety of Muslims following Easter Sunday attacks.

A meeting held yesterday with the participation of Muslim Ministers who resigned from their posts to take a decision on whether or not to accept their ministerial posts again ended inconclusively.
