Sun, Jun 16, 2019, 11:13 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

June 16, Colombo: Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne recently declared open the newly constructed pediatric ward complex at the Negombo General Hospital.

The three-storey ward complex built at a cost of over Rs. 200 million is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, operating theaters and many more modern facilities including an isolation room, and play areas.

It is noteworthy that the new ward complex has facilities to provide inpatient treatment to 100 children at a time.

The private sector has helped to build and maintain the ward complex which was constructed expeditiously feeling the need for improved pediatric facilities after the Easter Sunday attacks on a church in Negombo where many children were killed and injured.

A special souvenir was presented to the Minister to mark the official handing over of the Ward Complex.
