June 14, Colombo: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Sri Lanka police have brought five suspects, who were arrested in Dubai in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks to the island, Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.

Police spokesman said the five suspects including National Thowheed Jama'ath member Mohammed Milhan had been brought to the island early this morning.

A special team of officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has visited Dubai and following discussions with the authorities, have brought back the suspects.

Initial police investigations have reportedly revealed that Milhan was responsible for the killing of two Police constables at a checkpoint in Vavunathivu in Batticaloa on November 30, 2018.

The suspects are currently in the CID custody for further questioning, the spokesman said.
