* Sri Lanka officials to visit Israel to promote tourism

Jan 16, Colombo: Officials from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau will visit Tel Aviv next month to participate in the International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM), the Jerusalem Post reported.

The leading tourism event, 25th annual international tourism exhibition, IMTM 2019 will be held at the Tel Aviv Convention Center on February 12-13, 2019.

Sri Lanka is a popular destination for Israeli tourists, especially for surfing, and their numbers are increasing. Sri Lanka's magical beaches and rich Buddhist heritage has attracted more than ten thousands Israelis each year, and the Sri Lankan Ministry of Tourism has set a goal to increase the amount of Israelis visiting the island by 20 percent in 2019,
