* UNP ready to create a foundation for every citizen to live in a united country - Minister Harin
Sat, Jan 12, 2019, 08:49 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Jan 12, Colombo: Minister of Telecommunication, Foreign Employment and Sports, Harin Fernando says that the United National Party is ready to create a foundation for every citizen to live in a united country.

The new constitution that will be adopted in the future will inevitably create a united Sri Lanka despite whatever definitions given by the groups believing themselves as patriots, the Minister said.

Speaking at an event in Badulla held to distribute sports equipment, the Minister said the country has embarked on a new voyage with new hopes.

"I think the country will go forward with its expectations fulfilled. Although various groups have expressed different views on drafting a new constitution, definitely a constitution that will take the country forward as a unitary state will be created," he said.

"Although some groups label the new constitution as a means to set up a federal system or to divide the country, the new constitution will build an environment where all people of the country can live together in a unitary state," Minister Fernando said.

"Then the existing issues based on the religions and race will not become problems for the people," the Minister added.
