* Sri Lanka Police arrest suspect with over one kilogram of heroin worth over Rs. 12 million in Kotahena

Jan 07, Colombo: Sri Lanka Police have arrested a suspect in the possession of over one kilogram of heroin near the community hall in Paradise Watta, Kotahena on Sunday afternoon.

The suspect was arrested during a raid conducted on information received by the police officers at the Armor Street police post.

The Police found one kilogram and 5.640 grams of heroin in the possession of the suspect. The stock of drugs is estimated to be worth over Rs. 12 million.

The 40-year-old suspect is identified as Gunahinnage Lakpriya Nalin, a resident of Miraniya Street, Colombo 12.

The suspect will be produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate today (07). Kotahena Police are conducting further investigations.
