* President to present Cabinet paper to provide compensation for the small & medium scale rice mill owners today

Feb 12, Colombo: President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday said the cabinet paper to provide compensation and solutions for the issues faced by small and medium scale rice mill owners will be presented to the Cabinet meeting today.

President Sirisena, meeting with the small and medium scale entrepreneurs on Monday at Battaramulla, Ape Gama premises, said steps will be taken to work according to the state policy to provide maximum benefits for all while providing solutions for the issues emerged in the field.

He said that the prominence was given by the state policy to uplift the lives of people who are unable to stand up on their own feet. Priority will be given to make poverty stricken people more capable through a broad program, he added.

The President also showed the importance of marching forward with strength with the cooperation of public and private sector with new state policies and strategies.

Cabinet Minister for Ministry of Agriculture P. Harrison, Non Cabinet Minister of Economic Reform and Public Distribution Dr. Harsha De Silva, Secretaries of Districts, Secretaries of divisional Secretariats and public officers were present in this event.
