Feb 08, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Opposition leader Mahinda Rajapaksa is set to leave for India on Friday to attend a forum, his office said.

Former Sri Lankan President is scheduled to deliver an inaugural speech at the forum organized by "The Hindu Daily" on February 9 and 10 in Bangalore, India. His address will mainly focus on the pathway of future ties between India and Sri Lanka.

This will be Rajapaksa's first overseas visit since being appointed as the Leader of the Opposition last month and second visit to India within the last six months. In September, he visited New Delhi and met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Rajapaksa will also be meeting with dignitaries on the sidelines of the conference, the office said.
