* Two foreign nationals arrested with cocaine worth Rs. 2.5 million

Feb 07, Colombo: The Peliyagoda District Crime Division of police arrested two foreign nationals with a stock of cocaine worth Rs. 2.5 million near the Kandana railway station today (7th).

The two suspects, an Israeli and an Italian were arrested following information received by the Peliyagoda District Crimes Division. They were in the possession of 60.97 grams of cocaine at the time of arrest.

The arrested Israeli national is 25 years old and the Italian is 36 years old.

According to a police officer, preliminary investigations have revealed that the two foreign nationals, who had arrived in Sri Lanka in January, during their short stay, had distributed cocaine in areas such as Tangalle, Hikkaduwa and Trincomalee.
