Feb 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy Sunday (03rd February) released another three Indian fishing trawlers which had been apprehended on several occasions for trespassing and illegal fishing in the Sri Lankan waters.

The three trawlers were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard.

Prior to the handover, the trawlers moored at the jetty of Trincomalee were repaired by a dedicated team of Indian engineers who arrived in Sri Lanka over the past couple of days.

A Sri Lanka Coast Guard vessel escorted the repaired Indian trawlers to the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) north of the island and handed them over to the Indian Coast Guard ship Rani Durgavati.
