Apr 22, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy today seized about 275 kilograms of drugs, believed to be heroin, while being transported in a multiday fishing trawler.

Sri Lanka Navy media unit as aid based on information received from Police Narcotic Bureau, the Sri Lanka Navy Ship Sagara carried out a comprehensive surveillance operation off North Eastern coast and apprehended a Multiday Fishing Trawler with five Sri Lankan nationals today (22 April) while smuggling narcotic substance suspected to be Heroine close to 275 kg.

The vessel is being taken ashore for further investigation. Further details will be notified in due course.
