* President appoints three-member committee to probe bomb blasts

Apr 22, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed a three-member committee to look into the series of explosions that ripped through churches and hotels yesterday.

Supreme Court judge Vijith Malalgoda, Former IGP N.K. Illangakoon & Former Law & Order Ministry Secretary Padmasiri Jayamanne are the members of the committee.

President Sirisena has instructed the three-member panel to investigate causes and circumstances of the tragedy that destroyed so many lives and the background for the grave national catastrophe as well as other factors that led to an attack of this magnitude and submit a report within two weeks.
