Apr 21, Colombo: The UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office has issued a travel advice on Sri Lanka after multiple bomb explosions at churches and five-star hotels in capital Colombo rocked the island nation on Easter Sunday.

Issuing a travel Advice FCO asked UK visitors to follow the instructions of local security officials.

"There have been a number of explosions in Sri Lanka, including Colombo, on Sunday 21 April. Please follow the instructions of local security officials and follow travel advice for updates," it said.

Bombs exploded simultaneously at four churches in Colombo, Negombo and Batticaloa and in Kingsbury, Shangri-La and Cinnamon Grands hotels in Colombo.

Reports from Colombo say 25 people including foreign nationals have been killed and hundreds have been injured.
