* Two suspects arrested with Rs. 3.5 million worth cash

Apr 20, Colombo: Police have arrested two individuals along with Rs 3.5 million in cash while traveling in a three-wheeler on the Colombo-Kandy main road in the Weediyawatta area in Yakkala.

Police said the suspects were arrested during an inspection as they were not able to explain the source of the large sum of cash.

During the interrogation the suspects had said that the money is being taken for business purposes.

The suspects are residents of Warakapola.

After being produced before the Attanagalla Magistrate's Court, the suspects were remanded till the 29th of this month.
