* Comprehensive probe into giving wrong bodies to families at Kalutara Hospital

Apr 19, Colombo: Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne has ordered to conduct a comprehensive investigation regarding the release of bodies to wrong families by the Kalutara General Hospital.

A tense situation arose when five bodies were switched and released to wrong relatives in the Kalutara General Hospital and the residents of the area have informed the Minister of the incident.

After inquiring the Director of the hospital, the Minister has ordered Director General of Health Dr. Anil Jasinghe to conduct an investigation into the incident, the Ministry of Health said.

The Health Minister stressed that disciplinary action will be taken against the hospital workers, if found guilty of negligence.
