* Pakistan's National Defense University delegation visits Sri Lanka

Apr 16, Colombo: A 17-member delegation of National Defense University of Pakistan, which is currently in Sri Lanka for a 6-day visit, led by Air Commodore Mustafa Anwer, called on High Commissioner of Pakistan, Maj. Gen. (R) Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat at the High Commission premises on April 16, 2019.

The delegation comprises of senior officers from Pakistan's Armed Forces and allied officers from Iran, Bangladesh and Nepal, who are undergoing National Security and War Course at the NDU.

While elaborating Pakistan-Lanka relations, the High Commissioner underscored that relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka are based on mutual trust and commonality of interest in maintaining peace, security and stability in the South Asian region. He said that Pakistan and Sri Lanka have shared common perceptions on almost all regional and international issues and are working together on all these fora for shared values and interests.

During their visit, the delegates will be meeting with a number of prominent personalities from Sri Lankan Armed Forces and civil Institutions including Secretary Defense, Chief of Defense Staff, Commanders of Sri Lankan Army, Air Force and Navy. The delegation will also visit the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI) and Institute of National Security Studies Sri Lanka (INSSSL) for interactive session.
