This year, the auspicious time to plant a tree has also been added to the Sinhala & Tamil New Year list of auspicious times.

People are requested to plant a tree sapling at the auspicious time of 11.17 a.m. today (15), facing the East, wearing white clothes.

Accordingly, the saplings of indigenous trees such as Nedun, Ebony, Satinwood (Burutha), Hora, Na and Kumbuk can be obtained from the Forest Conservation Department offices and district officials for free of charge, Forest Conservation and Forestry official PAGS Nandakumara said.
