* Two people hacked to death in Sevanagala

Apr 13, Colombo: Two individuals have been hacked to death while sleeping in a hut in a paddy field in Nugegalayaya area of Thunkamayaya, Sevanagala.

The police media spokesman's office said that the murder had taken place between 04.30 am and 07.00 am Saturday (13) morning.

The deceased are 39 year old and 54 year old residents of Nugegalayaya and Kiriwewa in Sevanagala.

The Monaragala magistrate is due to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the incident.

Sevanagala Police are conducting further investigations.
