* British counter-terror police arrest four Sri Lankans arrived at Luton airport

Apr 13, Colombo: British counter-terror police have arrested four Sri Lankan men on suspicion of being members of a banned organization hours after they arrived at the Luton airport in London.

The four Sri Lankan nationals arrived at Luton Airport on an international flight on the evening of Wednesday, 10 April and they were arrested by the police the next day after the police were alerted to the men.

They have been nabbed on suspicion of membership of a proscribed organization, contrary to section 11 of the Terrorism Act 2000, the Metropolitan Police said. They were each arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.

The four men are currently detained at a police station in Bedfordshire while police enquiries are ongoing.
