Wed, Apr 10, 2019, 10:42 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Apr 10, Colombo: A Sri Lankan court today ordered to remand Mohamed Nazeem Mohamed Faizar, who was arrested in Dubai with Makandure Madush and deported to Sri Lanka on Monday.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Thanuja Jayatunga ordered to remand Faizar, a 37-year-old resident of Maligawatte, until the 24th of April.

Faizar and another suspect, arrested in Dubai along with Makandure Madush, arrived in the country on Monday after they were deported from Dubai.

Upon their arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested the two suspects and handed over the suspects to the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD).

The court yesterday allowed the CCD to detain Faizar for 24 hours for questioning.

When Faizer was presented before the courts today (10) the CCD informed the court that Faizar is a close accomplice of underworld gang leader 'Kanjipani Imran' and wanted for a number of murders and several other crimes.

The CCD are conducting further investigations into the suspect's criminal activities.
