* President donates Rs 2 mn to first time airman mother of quadruplets

Apr 10, Colombo: President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday donated two million rupees to female airman Ayesha Dilhani, a first time mother who has given birth to quadruplets.

The young mother and her husband blessed with two baby girls and two baby boys were facing the challenge of providing care to four infants with their state sector salaries.

That is when Ayesha has decided to appeal to the President for help through the "Janapathita Kiyanne" (Tell the President’) program.

The President who came to know about Ayesha and her family's plight through the program has decided make a donation of Rs. 500,000 for each child and instructed his officials to make arrangements for the family to visit the President to receive the donation.

Ayesha, her husband, and her mother with the quadruplets met with the President yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat, where she was given the check for two million rupees.
