* India, Sri Lanka coast guards maintain close cooperation

Apr 09, Colombo: The Director General of the Indian Coast Guard, Rajendra Singh met with his Sri Lankan counterpart, Admiral Samantha Wimalathunge on Monday (April 08) during an official visit to the island.

The two Director Generals held discussions focusing on the matters of bilateral importance, the Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) media unit said.

Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) said it is maintaining close cooperation and good relationship with the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and the visit of ICG Director General will strengthen the bond between the two Coast Guards further.

India and Sri Lanka coast guards cooperate closely to ensure coastal security and prevent illegal activities along their maritime boundary.
