* 'Makandure Madush' to be extradited to Sri Lanka within this week, court told

Apr 09, Colombo: Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris today informed Colombo Fort magistrate that the Sri Lankan government is taking measures at the diplomatic level to extradite the underworld leader 'Makandure Madush' from Dubai.

The Deputy Solicitor General told Colombo Fort magistrate Ranga Dissanayake that the underworld leader is due to be extradited to Sri Lanka within this week.

The state lawyer mentioned this when the case on the alleged VIP assassination plot was taken up before the Colombo Fort magistrate court today (09).

The underworld leader and drug kingpin Madhush Lakshitha alias 'Makandure Madush', who has led the organized crime and drug trafficking in Sri Lanka, was arrested in Dubai along with 30 others during a raid on 5th February this year.
