The first meeting of the committee was held on the 7th under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Temple Trees.

During the meeting, the committee discussed the actions needed to be taken to expedite making the recommendations and presenting the report in parliament.

It was also decided to obtain observations and suggestions from all political parties represented in the Parliament.
