It is a special occasion that the President is turning 67 when the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, which he chairs, is also celebrating its 67th anniversary.

Maithripala Sirisena, the sixth Executive President of Sri Lanka, was born on 3rd September 1951 to a middle-class farming family in Western Province and grew up in Polonnaruwa in the North Central Province.
