Oct 17, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has ordered to dissolve the Boards of Directors of the Bank of Ceylon, People's Bank and the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka from midnight today, local media reported according to sources from the Presidential Secretariat.

Sources say that this step will be taken considering the administrative irregularities that had taken place in these institutions.

According to government high ranking officials, separate investigations regarding the irregularities at these institutions will commence within the next few days.
