* Colombo- Talaimannar rail services to resume next month

Oct 17, Colombo: The train services from Colombo to Talaimannar will recommence from next month, Railway General Manager Dilantha Fernando said.

Train service between Talaimannar and Medawachchiya was temporarily suspended for three months from August 17 to install three new bridges on the Talaimannar Railway line.

The Railway General Manager stated that the existing old bridges were removed and three new bridges were constructed on a request made by the Railway Department.

The train service to Talaimannar is expected to resume on Nov. 16.
