Oct 12, Colombo: General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa says that ideas of forming a coalition government with the Mahinda Rajapaksa faction are just rumors and no official discussion has been held so far.
Although various persons express various views on this, they are all just hearsay, he said.
The SLFP General Secretary further said the present unity government between the SLFP and the UNP has not yet given rise to any controversy and when taking some important decisions the SLFP is working together with the UNP.
The SLFP takes some decisions by calling the Central Committee and those are party's policy decisions, he added.
The SLFP General Secretary said it is the party's stance that there should be a member of parliament responsible for the electorate and the matter has been discussed with the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) party leaders recently. He added that an election should be held soon.
