Mon, Oct 8, 2018, 09:31 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Oct 08, Colombo: The Kerawalapitiya solid waste disposal site has accepted the garbage collected within the Colombo municipal limits after the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has paid a portion of its past dues.

Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation took steps to temporarily stop accepting garbage at the Kerawalapitiya site on the 6th of this month due to the CMC's failure to pay dues from July 2018 amounting to Rs. 207 million to the Corporation.

Roshan Gunawardena, Chairman of the Land Reclamation and Development Corporation said that the corporation has this morning received a check for 100 million rupees from the Colombo Municipal Council. Accordingly, the Corporation started collecting solid waste from Colombo municipal limits.

The Land Development Corporation stated that it was the responsibility of the both sides to continue the arrangement with a proper management without exceeding the credit limit.
