Nov 06, Colombo: Hemas Hospitals yesterday announced the divestiture of Hemas Southern Hospital, taking a significant step to intensify its growth strategy and new business lines.
In a stock market filing yesterday, Hemas Holdings PLC announced that, its subsidiary Hemas Hospitals (Pvt) Ltd, has disposed of its entire 100% shareholding in Hemas Southern Hospital (Pvt) Ltd for a purchase consideration of Rs. 450 million to Asiri Hospital Holdings PLC.
The transaction took place on 02nd November 2018.

Subsequent to the divestment, the Hemas Hospitals group will continue to focus its efforts on developing tertiary capability in the remaining two main hospital assets - Hemas Thalawathugoda and Hemas Wattala, both with a combined bed capacity of 184, and an island-wide laboratory network of 34 diagnostic laboratories.
Going forward, Hemas Hospitals in Thalawathugoda and Wattala will evolve into super-specialty medical and healthcare, state-of-the-art facilities, providing for critical care.
Hemas Labs will transform as one of the most technologically-advanced laboratories in Sri Lanka, servicing the country and selected foreign markets. In addition, Hemas Hospitals plans to expand their business to international markets.
