* Hakmana SLPP PS member dies in shooting

Nov 04, Colombo: A Hakmana Pradeshiya Sabha member, who was injured in a shooting incident this evening, has succumbed to his injuries.

Hakmana Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Pradeshiya Sabha member L. H. Shantha has died of the injuries he received in the shooting while receiving treatment at Hakmana Hospital.

A group of unidentified persons who had arrived in a van and a motorbike have shot the PS member at around 4.30 this evening at Kembiliyapola on Hakmana-Beliatta road.

The 53 year old victim, a resident of Ambagahawatte, Naravelpita in Hakmana has visited the location with two other gem businessmen to reportedly discuss a land deal when he was shot by the unidentified gunmen arrived in a van with T56 weapons.

The Hakmana Police are conducting further investigation.
