Nov 04, Colombo: General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa says he believes that the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) can claim a majority in Parliament.

Speaking to media in Kandy, the SLFP General Secretary said the UPFA has already shown the majority and they will take alternate measures if the party fails to claim a majority in Parliament.

He noted that several United National Party (UNP) MPs have come to their side and taken oath as ministers and even assumed duties.

The SLFP General Secretary said his party is ready to face an election at any time.
