Nov 01, Colombo: Sri Lanka's newly appointed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa says it has been decided to reconvene the prorogued parliament on the 5th of this month.

Prime Minister Rajapaksa has said that President Maithripala Sirisena had informed him of the decision.

The President has come under increasing pressure from the civil societies and legislators as well as the international community to reconvene the parliament. The President without consulting the Speaker prorogued the parliament on October 27 until November 16.
