* Sri Lanka President arrives in Rome to attend the 24th COFO & 6th World Forest Week

July 15, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena has arrived at Fiumicino International Airport in Rome today (15) to attend the 24th session of the Committee on Forestry (COFO) and the 6th World Forest Week organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The President was received by a special government representative and other officials, President's Media Division said.

The 24th session of COFO and the 6th World Forest Week will begin tomorrow, July 16 at FAO headquarters, Rome, Italy will explore the contributions that forests can make to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

President Sirisena is scheduled to deliver a special speech at the Session that gets underway tomorrow.

Later, the President will visit Georgia to attend the Open Government Partnership Global Summit 2018 Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018.
