* Rs. 17 million worth Heroin found in Serunuwara

July 15, Colombo: Police have found five packages of heroin buried in the Seenanweli coast in Serunuwara, Police Media Spokesperson said.

Serunuwara Police found the 5 parcels containing 1.416 kilograms of heroin buried on the beach. The heroin stock is estimated to be worth Rs. 17 million, according to the police.

No suspect has been arrested in connection with the heroin haul.

Trincomalee police yesterday found Rs. 60 million worth stock of Kerala cannabis and heroin abandoned on the Sampur beach.

Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena and the cabinet of Ministers last week decided to carry out the execution of convicted drug dealers serving death sentences.
