* Over Rs. 60 million worth drugs abandoned on eastern coastal belt

July 13, Colombo: A stock of illegal drugs worth over Rs. 60 million was found abandoned on the coastal belt of Sampur in Trincomalee in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka, Police Media Spokesman's Office said.

The abandoned packages contained 5 kilograms of Kerala Cannabis and 550 grams of heroin, according to the police.

The stash was packed in 21 bags, the police said.

Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena and the cabinet of Ministers earlier this week decided to carry out the execution of convicted drug dealers serving death sentences.
